Emergency Food Assistance Network
Our Food Assistance Network is a collaborative partnership made up of multiple charities throughout El Dorado County. This local food assistance network consists of over 30 emergency food closets, soup kitchens, maternity homes, violence free shelters, drug & alcohol transitional housing, homeless shelters, libraries, school programs and more.
Holiday Outreach
During the month of December, the Food Bank enlists an army of dedicated volunteers to support a special mission: feeding our neighbors who are struggling to make ends meet. Families receive a shopping cart filled with nutritious food—everything needed to enjoy a warm and plentiful holiday meal.
No Vet Goes Hungry Program
Built on a partnership with the El Dorado County Veteran’s Commission, the Food Bank of El Dorado County is proud to act as the emergency food assistance safety net for local Veterans and their families.
Elder Outreach
The Food Bank of El Dorado County teamed up with the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians to help seniors 60 years and older with our Commodity Supplemental Food Program. Currently serving seniors in Sacramento County, Yolo County, Placer County, El Dorado County and Amador County.
Listos California Program
Listos California draws on partners like the Food Bank of El Dorado County to develop and deliver emergency preparedness, response, and recovery information to our counties rural and remote communities. Together, we are working toward building a more established resilient community to help everyone get ready and stay safe from natural disaster our communities face.
Harvest to Table Program
In partnership with the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians and the USDA, the Food Bank is bringing local, fresh, whole foods to residents! Food is purchased from local farmers, producers and vendors in El Dorado County, as well as our producing neighbors in surrounding California counties. This purchased food is then included in our food distributions, so that recipients can enjoy the delicious, healthy food that our county and California is proud to offer.
Temporary Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP)
Temporary Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) is a federal program that helps supplement the diets of low-income individuals by providing them with emergency food assistance at no cost.
